Hope

Local
News.
The pier still has no working lights to enable you to see anything when
disembarking at night. The ongoing work by Council Electricians seems
to take forever. They’ve been over at least 3 times now & we
still can’t see a “blinking” thing. (Where’s Moses
when you need him?)
Steve is still constructing the Pier-Toilet & Shelter with the help
of Tam-The Banjo & Jo when around or needed.
Knoydart Forest Trust has at last got the go-ahead to
extract timber from the woods surrounding Inverie. This should happen
imminently but will have restrictions on it because of timescales due
to our resident birds setting up nest sites very soon.
There will be disruption around the Pier area, so be aware of this on
arrival.
Jim Brown (Airor) has got engaged to Kristy Parker, (Kristy
used to work as Old Forge Chef). They’ll tie the knot in the summer,
so congratulations to them.
Knoydarts’
annual Burns Supper was on Sat: 27th Jan, it had a good attendance as
usual with Iain Wilson addressing the Haggis & generally hosting the
evening. Thanks goes to Iain & all who participated in helping at
this event, from the musicians to the cooks etc.
Our family fair enjoyed their night.
I unfortunately I couldn’t attend as I was singing and addressing
the Haggis in East-Berlin. (That’s another story)
Sea-Eagle.
There have been regular sighting of 2 birds recently, one of which landed
on the shore just outside Donald’s House. Let’s hope they
hang around for a while as they are magnificent to watch.
Kindest Regards to you all, hope to hear from some of our regulars soon.
A message to you folk who are thinking of visiting,
Get Yir Skates On & Book.
Yours
Aye, Drew & Jacqui .
