The
opening news to the folk who are regular visitors to Kilchoan, the Grieves
Cottage is now complete & fitted out ready for rental. Pictures will
be on our web-site very soon.
I'll start off by welcoming Cara's new twin boys to their home at the
Gathering, named Robbie & Archie. Other arrivals back on the peninsula
are Ali, who'll be working with Jacqui here at Kilchoan & also some
work time with Murray and Gwen at the Pier House. Our last arrival back
from basking in South Africa & Australia, is "The Butcher".
He's home for the season to look after the Old Dairy and the Old Byre.
The latter dwelling being the main residency of the workforce for the
new pier in Inverie village.
The pier has over-run a little with the finishing date now standing at
the end of June.
The structure is looking fantastic, all fendering, ladders, bollards etc
now in situ: It just needs the remedial works of tidying up all around
done and this will have it set to go.
We say goodbye to Louise Slack this week who is leaving the position of
nursery teacher. We wish her all the best in the future.
Interviews for the position commence next week and I wish the local interested
parties for the job, the best of luck!
If it's anything like allocating houses? It will certainly be interesting
to
stand back & peruse.
Knoydart Arts Promotions hosted an evening of entertainment on March 10th
with Anne Martin & Ingrid Henderson. This was followed up the next
day with workshops in piano, clarsach & singing. The next KAP event
is on on Sat: 27th May. This will consist of dance worshops in during
the day, followed by an evening ceilidh headed by the Squashy-Bag-Dance-Band.
(Eilidh Shaw, Ross Martin, Tam-The-Banjo, Donald Drummie & friends)
Knoydart Foundation put on a cheese and wine evening (Fri-21st April)
to mark the progress in the community buy out, over the past 5 years.
This was well attended.
Nothing else to say now folks, thats your lot! Keep looking on our site.
Yours Aye, Drew, Jacqui & All at Kilchoan.
