Knoydart is only accessible by boat or foot.
Feeling fit ? Drive to Kinloch Hourn, leave your car (or be dropped off) and walk to Barrisdale, either staying in the bothy or keep going over Barrisdale Path, down to Loch Dubhlochain and carry on to Drium Bothy or straight to Inverie.

Alternatively, Drive to Mallaig and catch The Western Isles, Mon, Wed, Friday at either 10:15 or 14:15 for the 45 minute crossing to Inverie. There you will be met and driven to your accomodation.

The Farmhouse and Barn are a 15 minute walk from the village which boasts the 'most remote pub on the British mainland' - The Old Forge, open fire, warm atmosphere, good food and lots of ceilidhs! Like to eat out - we also have the Pier House restaurant and tea-room. Booking advisable in the summer. There are two public payphones in the village and the Post Office is open on boat days.

Boats may be hired for non-ferry days, or can be organised for trips to Camusrory, Loch Hourn or a spot of whale or dolphin spotting.
