Kilchoan estate was formerly part of Knoydart Estate and has been with the same family since it was bought around 20 years ago.

What can we offer you ? Warm, comfortable accommodation on Knoydart penisula just far enough away from the village of Inverie for complete privacy, spectacular views from your windows of Glen Meadall and Glen Dubh-Locahain, if you are staying in the Fank you can look onto Inverie Bay and out to Skye and Rhum.

The Red Deer stags come down to Kilchoan to winter and you can watch them being fed along with the highland cows and Garron ponies. If you like to fish a 5 minute walk and you are at the Sea Pool on Inverie river, you can fish right up the river to Loch Dubh-Lochain where we have a pioneer boat to fish the loch. We can also organise a stalking week with your accommodation in Kilchoan Farmhouse. Our season for stalking is between September and mid February.

If you would like to come to Kilchoan Estate whether it is to fish, stalk, walk, mountain bike or just chill out and relax in front of a wood burning stove, we will do our best to ensure you have a thoroughly enjoyable stay with us.

News Update.

Well what can I say –

time flies when you’re having fun.  I’ve taken such a long time to update this that Ian and Jackies house is almost complete, Jim and Clair did return as Mr and Mrs Manthorpe and are now expecting a little Manthorpe, Tigh-na-Dobhran has had guests in it for over 2 months and the stalking season is almost upon us once again!
Knoydart has had a really busy season so far, I think we must have had our busiest in years-thanks must go I’m sure to Iceland’s erupting volcano.
Callum returned briefly-a quick stop over in between countries as he has landed himself a job building mountain bike tracks all over the world – go hoff!!
Lots of faces coming and going-Nat and Megan are away, Gerry McSherry leaves in around 2 weeks and Danny and Angie are away back to Dunoon.  They threw a great leaving bash on the beach with music, bonfires, barbeque and a fantastic spread including Angie’s nettle beer and elderflower champagne, which-so I’m told-if mixed together with a dash of vodka is a great local anaesthetic for the 50 gazillion midges that decided to join us!

Apart from the usual influx of summer staff another new face is Sam Gardener-under its powerdown project to reduce carbon footprints, Knoydart Foundation was successful in winning an award from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challange Fund to get the old market garden up and running as a community garden.  The funds have allowed them to employ a part-time gardner-Sam-to work alongside local people who have set up their own mini allotments in the garden.  The aim of the project is to reduce food miles by producing more fruit and veg locally.  In addition the Foundation will be trialling an electric vehicle-a quad- running off our own renewable energy.

The next big event on our social calendar is The Knoydart Games-a great day out for all the family-is on Saturday 7th August.  Get your boat booked.
That’s all for now

Jacqui, Iain, John & Fay.
